Biography

Martin Foner is a principal of NPL Publishing Consultants.

Martin Foner is a principal of NPL Publishing Consultants.

In addition to consulting with mid sized and small publishers since 1982, Mr. Foner has owned and managed three publishing companies. Mr. Foner was CEO for 15 years at KIDSRIGHTS, a mid sized publisher/cataloger, which is now owned by a large Midwestern publisher. These firms acquired other publishers, lines, and many individual titles over the years and were successfully sold by him.

Having built a multi-million dollar “branded” publisher/cataloger from a Strategic Plan, he is intimately familiar with Strategic Planning, Marketing, and Day to Day Operations of publishing companies. Mr. Foner’s training and early career in Strategic and Tax Planning for small businesses gave him the opportunity to work with and help grow hundreds of small and mid sized companies in various fields, providing broad experience in what it takes to make a business successful.

Mr. Foner was a Co-Founder and Past President of the Florida Publishers Association.

Mr. Foner has authored six books on subjects relating to taxation, from his earlier career, and was an LPA, PA, EA, and specialized in tax structuring and planning for small companies, in regular year to year operations and during the sale of companies. He is currently working on a comprehensive new book on buying and selling publishing companies, and in his spare time, a humorous travel memoir.

Mr. Foner lives in Montreal, with his wife and business partner, Judith, two adult children (one of whom lives nearby), a teenager, and a couch potato Daschund named Lucky.
